BELFAST, MAINE — Award-winning actor, educator and former Belfast resident Tim Collins will perform two of his solo shows, addressing sexual assault prevention; and bullying prevention, Friday and Saturday night, Nov. 16 and 17, at The Playhouse, 107 Church St.
Friday’s show, “Standing By, Standing Up,” will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday’s Show, “The Script,” starts at 7 p.m. Both performances are followed by a post-show discussion. Tickets are $10.
Collins is a three-time winner of the city’s <15 Minute Festival and is a longtime colleague of Belfast theater director and activist Larraine Elizabeth Brown. His one-man shows for violence prevention have entertained and educated audiences at schools, universities, libraries and other social agencies since 2000.
“Standing By, Standing Up,” about bullying and cyberbullying prevention and bystander intervention, is intended for third through eighth graders, parents and educators. “The Script,” about sexual assault prevention, consent and toxic masculinity, is intended for 11th and 12th graders, college students, parents and educators.
Collins has performed for more than a half a million students and educators around the country. The two-time winner in the NYC United Solo Theater Festival is a published playwright and has appeared on YNN News and NPR.
